This is your opportunity to help shape the future for Children attending the Emergency Department.Are you ambitious and a focused person already working in an acute setting?Are you looking for a development opportunity?This is your opportunity to help shape the future for Children attending the Emergency Department.Main duties of the jobYou must be highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges, in paediatric emergency care.You must be willing to participate in health promotion to care for the children of our community.Have continuing responsibility for the delivery of care needs and maintenance of Clinical Standards on the ward/dept.Support to all grades of staff, planning and directing activities to provide the optimal standard of care.Ability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate evidence based, holistic family centred care with the Multi-disciplinary team to children and young people.To act as an advocate on behalf of children and their families.Ensure that the ward/dept. is clean and provides a safe environment for children, parents and staff.The aim of this post is to gain competences, knowledge, skills and experience in ED to progress to leadership level.You must be highly motivated and willing to take on new challenges, in paediatric emergency care.About usWe operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery.
