We’re hiring an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a secure nuclear site project, supporting the delivery of high-integrity engineering works in a complex, high-security environment.
This role is ideal for a proactive engineer with a strong foundation in project delivery who thrives in structured, regulated settings. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring technical excellence, safety compliance, and successful execution from planning through to completion.Security Clearance
Due to the nature of the site, active DV clearance is preferred, though SC-cleared candidates who are eligible for DV will be considered. You must be willing to undergo the DV clearance process if not already held.Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Project Manager in full project lifecycle activities
  • Input into Project Management Plans and key control documentation
  • Develop solutions and carry out supporting studies
  • Produce technical documentation including Control Plans, Method Statements, Risk Assessments, and LTQRs
  • Interface with suppliers and subcontractors to source necessary equipment and services
  • Coordinate documentation, procurement, logistics, and site delivery
  • Collaborate with supervisors and technicians to ensure smooth site operations
  • Support cost tracking, risk management, stakeholder engagement, and supplier performance
Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical discipline (desirable)
  • Membership of a professional body (desirable)
  • IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent (training provided if needed)
Experience & Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of project delivery processes
  • Familiarity with the UK Nuclear Industry and regulated environments
  • Knowledge of radiological controls (desirable)
  • Experience working with QSHEW standards and documentation
Skills:
  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Strong documentation and report-writing ability
  • Technical understanding of project data and design information
  • Confident communicator at all levels, including stakeholders and contractors
  • Awareness of ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001
Contract Details
  • Day Rate: Competitive, based on experience
  • Schedule: 9-day fortnight (compressed working schedule)
  • Clearance: DV or SC (with willingness to undergo DV)
  • Location: On-site at a secure UK nuclear facility
