We are seeking a dedicated Planning Solicitor to join our esteemed national team, specialising in planning law. The successful candidate will work on a diverse portfolio of high-profile projects, providing strategic planning advice, handling planning applications, and managing contentious matters such as appeals and judicial reviews. Based in their Manchester office, you will have the opportunity to work across a range of sectors, including residential, commercial, office, logistics, and regeneration schemes, supporting clients from initial planning strategies through to project delivery. Your role will also involve mentoring junior colleagues, contributing to business development initiatives, and managing client relationships at a national level.
  • Minimum of 7 years of PQE in planning law or a related field
  • Extensive experience advising on strategic planning, pre-application procedures, and planning obligations
  • Proven track record in handling contentious planning matters including appeals and judicial reviews
  • Strong understanding of environmental impact assessments, highways agreements, and conservation area issues
  • Excellent client management and communication skills, with a proactive approach to business development
  • Experience supervising and mentoring junior team members
  • Relevant legal qualification and excellent knowledge of the UK planning regime
