We offer highly specialist 9-month rotations across three sites (Wakefield, Dewsbury & Pontefract) where you can enjoy many different clinical settings and develop a variety of skills.Spinal Injuries at Yorkshires Regional centre Burns Centre adult & children including critical care Respiratory 20 bedded Critical Care Unit, surgical HDU, acute respiratory and surgical wards A&E, Acute Medical Assessment and Frailty Units to stop admission into hospital Stroke Hyper acute stroke unit and rehab Neurology Rehab varying conditions with longer term rehabilitation Medical including cardiology, gastroenterology and geriatrics Trauma & Orthopaedics including major trauma, fractured neck of femur and day case If you are highly motivated, enjoy a challenge and are hard working then this job at Mid Yorkshire NHS Trust is the job for you.We are a supportive and forward thinking inpatient therapy service, just waiting for you to join us! The post holder will provide peer support, supervision to other members of the team, be responsible for the technical instructors and leadership opportunities where appropriate in the clinical setting, overseeing, planning and implementing team objectives with senior support.There will also be opportunity for project work in service development.Main duties of the jobTo provide advanced physiotherapeutic assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological symptoms associated with in-patient conditions in a broad variety of clinical settings, including Stroke, Neurology, Medical/Elderly, Spinal Injuries, Acute medical Assessment, Critical Care, Respiratory & Burns.The senior clinician will provide a diagnosis and develop and deliver an individual treatment programme for this patient.To provide leadership and support to junior colleagues in the assessment and management of Inpatient clinical conditions.To provide peer support, supervision and second opinions to members of the relevant Inpatient teams.Participate in seven day service for the wards (select rotations) helping to facilitate discharges and achieve best practice tariffs.Participate in the respiratory (on call) rota.To be responsible for technical instructors on duty.To provide clinical education of physiotherapy students on placement.To undertake a management role where appropriate in the clinical setting, where overseeing, planning and implementing objectives for juniors and assistants as necessary.About usWe are an acute trust caring for over one million people in Wakefield and Kirklees.
