This will be in pursuit of obtaining a Graduate Diploma in Respiratory Science delivered by Sheffield Hallam University. This will equip the individual with the the knowledge and skills to develop a rewarding career within Respiratory Physiology.The programme integrates academic teaching of clinical and professional modules into an intense 12 month training programme allowing students to develop the necessary skills and experience to work as a Healthcare Science Practitioner on graduation.This is full-time post and there is an expectation that the trainee will attend Sheffield Hallam University for nine days across four blocks as well as complete a work based competency portfolio. It is expected that the training programme is successfully completed within the contracted period. A commitment to self-directed study is essential.Main duties of the jobThe post holder will undertake a 12 month academic training programme as a Respiratory Physiology hosted by Sheffield Hallam University. This will be in conjunction with developing the clinical skills & experiential learning to work autonomously as a Healthcare Scientist.The trainee will undertake a range of activities dependent on the learning environment in which they work, their knowledge and skills, and their competence and confidence. Activities should allow them to meet the requirements of the programme and link to the agreed learning outcomes as agreed in the learning plan.A Clinical Supervisor will be appointed and be responsible for overseeing the trainee's work and providing developmental feedback.About usUniversity Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country.
