As an SEMH TA, you will support pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, helping them access the curriculum, regulate their emotions, and develop positive social skills.Responsibilities as an SEMH Teaching Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 or small group support for pupils with SEMH needs.
- Assist teachers in implementing strategies to manage behaviour and support emotional regulation.
- Encourage positive social skills, self-confidence, and resilience.
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff to provide consistent support.
- Monitor and report on pupil progress, contributing to tailored intervention plans.
- Experience working with children or young people, ideally with SEMH needs.
- Knowledge of behaviour management and emotional support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, flexible, and empathetic approach.
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
