The role
  • The school seeks a Youth worker within schools who will be confident, empathetic, patient and open minded.
  • providing support and guidance to the students in their variety of learning needs and assistance with personal care / moving and handling with hoists.
  • Delivering support to children aged 6-16 years old on a one-to-one and small-group basis.
  • Building a trustworthy and lasting relationship with students, enabling them to reach their full potential whilst shining bright.

To be considered for the role of a Youth Worker within SEN schools you will:
  • Be flexible.
  • Experience in Youth Work (Preferable)
  • Ideally have your own transport or close public transport links
  • Experience with both small group and 1:1 is beneficial
  • Friendly and nurturing qualities.
  • Competent behaviour management skills.
  • Have experience supporting children and young adults with a range of different learning needs and abilities – PMLD, MLD, ADHD, ADD, ASD, Global Delay, VI, HI, SEMH
  • Preferablymoving and handling training or have recent experience in this.
  • Have a patient and caring nature.
  • Have a desire to work with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • Willing to complete CPD training.
