- Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new customers through planned account management and liaison with administration staff.
- Prepare accurate and timely quotations using information from the timing and purchasing teams.
- Interpret technical drawings and calculate associated costs.
- Achieve and maintain gross profit targets as advised by management.
- Monitor and report monthly sales performance against budget, analysing variances and providing insights to the Sales Manager.
- Maintain a computerized customer and prospect database, including details of ongoing projects and opportunities.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and customer surveys to identify opportunities for growth.
- Attend training to enhance knowledge of relevant products, machinery, and industry capabilities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the company to maximize sales potential with both existing and new customers.
- Core products: Company services, products, and capabilities.
- Target sectors: Major accounts within the company's market sectors.
- Sales accountability: Up to £2 million potential.
- Proven sales experience in the tube, steel, or related industrial sectors is a distinct advantage.
- Strong knowledge of quoting processes, cost calculation, and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
- Target-driven with strong organizational and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM or sales management software
- Previous experience managing large accounts or a national territory.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and industry-specific machinery.
- Ability to conduct market research and competitor analysis.
