
Finance Assistant

- Provide accurate data to support monthly service charge accruals and prepayments.
- Collaborate with budget holders and service delivery teams to develop accurate and timely service charge budgets.
- Ensure service charge budgets integrate effectively into the wider organisational budgeting process, including reviewing the accuracy of non-contract cost forecasts.
- Support the finance function in issuing annual service charge notifications in line with the rent-setting cycle.
- Handle routine customer queries related to service charge notices, providing clear explanations and supporting documentation where necessary.
- Support the finance team with reconciliation and review of charges collected by external managing agents, and assist in the preparation of associated statutory accounts.
- Contribute to monthly and year-end financial close activities, ensuring deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the finance team to support broader team objectives and action plans.
- Deliver a responsive and customer-focused finance service to both internal stakeholders and
- Experience working in a transactional finance role
- Strong numerical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confidence in using finance systems and Microsoft Excel to manipulate and interpret financial data
- The ability to manage deadlines and work independently when needed
- Experience working in a housing, property management, or not-for-profit environment (desirable but not essential)
