Haywood Hospital houses the long-established specialist rehabilitation service for the North Midlands. The Rehabilitation Medicine department is the recognised regional provider of bed-based and outpatient specialist services for adults with complex disabilities. The inpatient unit, Broadfield Ward provides the specialist inpatient rehabilitation in 21 UKROC accredited Level 2a beds.The post holder will be responsible for the daily medical care of inpatients on Broadfield Ward, under the supervision of two consultants in Rehabilitation Medicine and supported by an Advanced Nurse Practitioner.Main duties of the jobMain duties will comprise routine medical reviews, clerking of planned admissions, management of unexpected complications and emergency presentations and supporting the wider multidisciplinary team in providing bespoke programmes of goal-oriented specialist rehabilitation.Please refer to the Job Description and Person Specification for a more detailed overview of the role and the requirements.About usCome and work with us at our award-winning NHS Trust, leading the way for trying new and better ways of working to help improve life for our local communities.We have around 9,000 staff who provide physical and mental healthcare, support for people with learning disabilities, and adult social care across Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Shropshire, and Telford & Wrekin.   • 4 years full time postgraduate training / equivalent experience and competencies

  • Postgraduate diploma / MSc in Rehabilitation or related field

ExperienceEssential
  • At least 2 years UK experience in NHS internal medicine and relevant medical specialities
  • Experience of attendance and contribution to MDT meetings
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary and inter professional teams to manage risks and issues

  • Previous experience in specialist rehabilitation
  • Involvement in research projects
  • Evidence of implementing change within a department / service
