Join our clients team and grow with us as we provide best in-class services that help clients solve their most complex challenges.The Radar Airfield Weather Services (RAWS) / Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) / VORTAC Technician/Senior position is a senior-level technical role responsible for leading maintenance and repair efforts on critical air traffic control systems and equipment such as radios, voice recorders, switches, lighting, navigational aids, and meteorological systems. This role includes supervising and training a team of technicians, managing the ATC Maintenance Certification Program, coordinating inspections and maintenance schedules, and ensuring compliance with military and FAA standards. It also entails creating training materials, providing performance feedback, troubleshooting complex systems using schematics, maintaining documentation, and participating in a 24-hour on-call rotation, all while serving as a liaison with airfield leadership for operational continuity.Employment Type: Full Time - HourlyKey Responsibilities:
  • Act as the senior maintenance technician, tasked with developing and implementing a training program for all subordinates in compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Supervise a team of technicians and coordinate maintenance and repair activities for air traffic control communication and navigation systems, including radios, digital voice recorders, communication switches, touch screen displays, Enhanced Terminal Voice Switch, airfield lighting, navigational aids, landing systems, and meteorological equipment.
  • Organize and schedule official flight inspections and flight checks to evaluate the performance of Airfield Navigational Aids in accordance with military and FAA standards and tolerances.
  • Oversee and manage the Air Traffic Control (ATC) Maintenance Certification Program.
  • Interpret airfield wiring diagrams and diagnose issues to repair complex airfield lighting systems, such as Medium Intensity Approach Lighting with Sequence Flasher and Constant Current or Microprocessor Controlled Regulators.
  • Conduct the installation, calibration, and ongoing maintenance of ATC communication and navigation equipment.
  • Develop and distribute training materials to technicians to ensure thorough understanding of system functions, subsystems, and equipment operation.
  • Deliver continuous informal feedback and conduct formal performance evaluations on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and submit required reports in alignment with contract obligations.
  • Collaborate with the Facility Supervisor or Air Traffic Manager to coordinate key maintenance responsibilities, including Letters of Agreement, on-call schedules, and Navigational Aids service plans.
  • Fulfill 24-hour on-call responsibilities on a rotational basis.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by the airfield manager.
  • Perform other duties as assigned in accordance with contractual, functional, and mission requirements.
Qualifications:

  • Experience in Radar Airfield Weather Services (RAWS) / Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS) / VORTAC preferred.
  • Experience with High Frequency (HF) Global Communications System
  • Blazer access and are qualified by HFGCS to perform Organizational Level O&M on each HFGCS system at Ascension.
  • Additional maintenance requirements include:
  • Performing preventive maintenance
  • Troubleshooting and replacing Line Replaceable Units (LRUs)
  • Running diagnostics and ensuring system operability on-site
  • Assist with installation and adjustment of air traffic control (ATC) communication and navigation aid systems
  • Maintain ATC communication systems and troubleshoot issues
  • Test, align, and adjust equipment; replace and repair faulty components
  • Maintain equipment maintenance records, authorized spare parts, supply stock, tool lists, and technical manuals
  • Perform comparison checks on repaired equipment in accordance with standards
  • Requisition materials and parts for ATC equipment
  • Perform 24-hour on call duties on a rotating basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the maintenance supervisor or maintenance chief
  • Uses all equipment safely
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in electronics, communications, or similar field with at least two (2) years as an air traffic control technician to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair airfield lighting, communications, navigational equipment, and meteorological systems
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; must speak and understand English in order to coordinate movement on the ramps via two-way radios
  • Knowledgeable in maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing airfield lighting, communications, and navigational equipment
  • Ability to translate communication needs of employees/customers not versed in computer terminology into meaningful solutions for both hardware and software
Requirements: * Must have computer skills and be able to operate a variety of computer programs.
  • Must be able to speak, read and write English fluently
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date. (able to drive manual transmission)
  • Must maintain a valid passport from their home country with validity for 12 months from on-site employment date
  • Must be able to gain and maintain authorized entry onto US military installations.
  • Must meet United States Department of Defense medical requirements necessary to live and work at Ascension Island
  • Must be able to pass employment and deployment qualification requirements that include psychological, medical, dental, drug testing and background checks.
  • Must pass a flight line access test and obtain flight line access badge upon deployment.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Pay: $70-75k (40 hr week)
