We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager for our Recommendations Platform. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in the future of products used by millions. Personalisation is increasingly central to how we serve audiences better, helping them find trusted, relevant content that matters to them.YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT
- Lead and inspire up to 50 staff across multiple Software Engineering teams, with direct line management of Team Leaders and Principal Engineers. Foster a culture of growth, collaboration, and high performance.
- Responsible for the delivery of AI/ML platform capabilities, providing teams with the data, tools and services they need to innovate at speed and scale.
- Accountable for ensuring the software is properly monitored, supported and maintained, including maintaining resources and skills for resolving issues throughout the lifecycle.
- Cross functional collaboration with other disciplines - product, design architecture and data science to deliver measurable, sustainable business value.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and innovation, ensuring teams adopt modern engineering practices and stay at the forefront of technology.
- Experience leading multiple software engineering teams, with experience line-managing Software Engineering Team Leaders and Principal Software Engineers.
- Operational experience managing DevOps teams and ensuring high availability of products and services at scale.
- Strong experience with a range of AWS services such as SageMaker, Bedrock, S3, EC2, Lambda, IAM, VPC, ECS/EKS, DynamoDB, Kafka, CloudFormation and associated technologies like Python.
- Experience of MLOps for personalisation (e.g. recommendations or search), or building enabling platforms for engineering or data science.
- Strong experience of delivering complex technical solutions to provide successful business outcomes in agreed timescales.
- Experience of managing multiple stakeholders including Product, Design, Data Science and Architecture.
- Experience of driving continuous improvement in the software engineering craft, improving tooling, practices and processes
