Location: County Hall, Leicester - Office BasedVenn Group are supporting the recruitment of an experienced Transport Officer to support the delivery of passenger transport services across the county. This is a great opportunity to join the Highways & Transportation team at a time of high demand, helping ensure services remain effective, efficient, and compliant.Responsibilities:Effective planning and procurement of passenger transport services, including annual review and reallocation of school transportMaintain accurate records and management information, including databases and manual systemsCoordinate inspections of contract timekeeping, operation, and complianceLiaise with contractors, operators, schools, parents, and other stakeholders to ensure services run smoothlyProvide guidance on transport standards, licensing, and safety requirementsAssist in developing and monitoring business processes and efficiency reviewsThe ideal candidate will have:Strong experience in transport operations, planning or procurementGood knowledge of passenger transport operational issues and legislation (Transport Act 2000, Concessionary Bus Travel Act 2007)Excellent organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities and tight deadlinesStrong IT skills, particularly with MS Office and database systemsEffective communication and negotiation skills to work with contractors, stakeholders, and the publicExperience working within local government transport or similar environments (desirable)Management and transport experienceIf you've got the relevant experience, please apply today!
