Your role will be to ensure the smooth running of Council Scrutiny meetings as part of the Council’s decision making arrangements.You will have responsibility for assigned regular meetings, including preparing the associated agendas, reports, and minutes, as well as researching and providing advice on items suitable for pre-decision scrutiny and facilitating and managing the work of task and finish groups.You will need experience in minuting meetings, preferably in a local government authority environment, excellent communications skills (both written and verbal) and good attention to detail. Organisational skills, and the ability to work some evenings as required will be essential.A number of our meetings are run as hybrid meetings, with the requirement to webcast meetings (via YouTube and other platforms) to enable members/the public to access remotely. Therefore, excellent IT skills and an aptitude for learning IT systems will be essential, as you will be required to manage the technical requirements of hybrid council meetings.In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development.
