We are looking for an experienced, dynamic physiotherapist with neuro/rehab experience who has, or has an interest in acquiring, specialist knowledge and skills in Acquired Brain Injury.You would be working closely with the Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist (0.72 wte) and another Band 6 brain injury physiotherapist (0.6 wte).We can offer you:- the chance to be part of a dynamic and supportive multidisciplinary team- the opportunity to contribute to developing the service- good career and professional development- a unique, fulfilling role within the countyYou must have excellent communication skills. The ability to work well as part of a close-knit interdisciplinary team is essential.You need to be able to work flexibly, managing a case load of in-patients, out-patients and community patients.You will need to have a driving license and access to a vehicle as we are a county-wide Service and you may have to lone work at times.Main duties of the job- The post holder assumes responsibility for the day-to-day management of the clinical area, in the absence of the team leader.- The post holder is supervised by a named therapist, who may not be present at all times. Clinical and professional supervision is in the form of regular clinical reasoning sessions, observed practice, peer review and formal training.- The post holder will link with the Band 7 clinical lead therapist to support the use of resources within budget. The level of managerial responsibility involves the supervision and appraisal of junior therapists, support workers and undergraduates, with the support of the Band 7.- When performing on call duties, staff must be available on the ward within 45 minutes of the call. For staff living more than 45 minutes from the hospital, a designated on-call room for overnight stay is available in GRH and is free of charge. This will include patients with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies in individual or group therapy sessions. Working as an autonomous practitioner with access to guidance from the clinical lead therapist when necessary, including working as a lone practitioner in the community.- To maintain clear, accurate and concise patient records in line with departmental and professional standards and include relevant outcome measures.
