Job Description:Robert Half are working with a global manufacturing business in the Ross-on-Wye / Coleford area. My client is looking to hire a couple of Software Developers as part of the move towards in-sourcing their application and web development functionality.The role:
  • Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining dynamic, scalable, and secure full-stack web applications.
  • Working across the entire software development lifecycle, collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust digital solutions.
Key responsibilities:Front-End Development:
  • Design and develop interactive user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Leverage JavaScript to build complex web applications.
  • Integrate front-end components with back-end APIs to retrieve and display data.
Back-End Development:
  • Build server-side logic
  • Develop RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between the front-end and back-end.
  • Manage database interactions (CRUD operations) using technologies like MySQL.
  • Implement authentication and authorization mechanisms for user access control.
Full-Stack Integration:
  • Turn UI/UX concepts into functional web applications.
  • Ensure seamless data flow between front-end and back-end components.
  • Optimise application performance for speed and scalability
Other Responsibilities:
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, including requirement gathering, design, implementation, testing, and deployment.
  • Adhere to best practices for code quality, maintainability, and security
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Skillset/Experience required:Front-End Technologies:
  • Strong understanding of JavaScript fundamentals, including DOM manipulation, asynchronous programming, and modern JavaScript features.
  • Expertise in HTML, CSS.
Back-End Technologies:
  • Knowledge of database management systems (example: MySQL)
  • Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs
Version Control:
  • Proficiency in Git for code management
Personal Qualities:
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering solutions.
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • High attention to detail and focus on quality.
