Job Title: Tool Maintenance TechnicianSalary: £32-£33kWorking Hours: Double Days 6-2pm, 6-10pmLocation: DudleyJob Type: Full-time---Role Purpose: The Tool Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in safely maintaining and preparing tools, ensuring the efficient manufacturing of products with the correct dimensions and quality. This role involves adhering to a strict TPM schedule and contributing to the overall efficiency of the manufacturing process.Main Role Duties/Scope: * Carry out all work activities in compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
  • Perform first-line maintenance and repair of injection moulding tools.
  • Ensure evacuation of stored water from tools in line with Legionella requirements and maintain the Tool Evacuation log.
  • Identify potential tool breakdown issues and report to the relevant department to minimize downtime (e.g., hot runners, water fittings, core fittings, electrical connections, tool wear, and damage).
  • Record and maintain data to achieve manufacturing metrics.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Kit production tools and ancillaries for efficient changeovers and minimal production downtime.
  • Ensure correct storage and validation of 5S cleaning and inspection of equipment.
  • Carry out insert changes in and out of injection moulding machines.
  • Clean tools before production runs.

Experience and Qualifications:
  • Previous basic machining/technical experience.
  • Knowledge of injection mould tools is an advantage.
  • Minimum Level 3 engineering qualification/equivalent experience or recognized apprenticeship.
  • Significant experience working in a fast-paced Tier 1 Manufacturing environment.
  • High level of literacy and numeracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office packages.
