Industry: Plant, Agricultural & Heavy Machinery EngineeringA leading machinery distributor is seeking a skilled and flexible Mobile Plant Fitter to join their team covering the Glasgow region. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced mechanic or engineer looking for a dynamic role with autonomy, variety, and excellent earning potentialThis role is fully remote, and engineers are paid from the moment they leave their home. The position is open to candidates across Glasgow and also welcomes applications from those looking to relocate to the area.What You’ll Be Doing:
- Responding to machinery breakdowns across the region, with minimal scheduled servicing
- Diagnosing faults in engines, electrics, hydraulics, transmissions (including AdBlue systems)
- Using laptops and diagnostic software to troubleshoot issues
- Reading and interpreting schematic diagrams
- Travelling to the depot as needed for larger workshop repairs or parts collection
- Working independently with a high level of responsibility and customer interaction
- Strong mechanical or engineering background with relevant qualifications
- Proven experience in fault finding and diagnostics across multiple systems
- Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule
- Willingness to travel across the Highlands region
- Comfortable using diagnostic tools and interpreting technical documentation
- Open to candidates from varied engineering backgrounds, including automotive, plant, or agricultural sectors
- 39-hour contract: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm (3:30pm finish on Fridays)
- Typical working hours: 7:00am–5:00pm (with regular overtime)
- Overtime paid at 1.5x double time for over 4 hours in a single day
- Occasional Saturday mornings paid at 1.5x
- Starting salary: £18–£20 per hour depending on experience
- On-target earnings (OTE): £55,000+
