Permanent, full-time, hybridAbout the Role:Our client is looking for a Senior or Principal Flood Risk Consultant with a strong drainage design background, ideally with experience in hydraulic and 3D drainage network modelling. You will be a key player in delivering technical excellence across a range of exciting water-based infrastructure projects, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and clients nationwide.In this role, you’ll lead technical input, support business development, and ensure smooth project delivery. Your responsibilities will span from managing small to medium-sized projects, to mentoring junior colleagues and providing sound advice on sustainable drainage.About the Client:Our client is a well-established consultancy operating across the built and natural environment. - Lead technical input on hydraulic modelling and drainage projects
- Deliver high-quality engineering solutions in line with current legislation and best practice
- Produce feasibility studies, design calculations, tender documentation, and technical reports
- Mentor junior team members and check technical work
- Engage with clients and stakeholders to secure repeat work and enhance the company’s reputation
- Contribute to bids and proposals, including technical methodologies and pricing
- Support the maintenance of internal standards, specifications, and quality systems
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geography or a related subject
- Chartered or Incorporated status via ICE or CIWEM (preferred)
- Strong track record on water-based projects
- Proficient in hydraulic modelling software, particularly InfoWorks ICM
- Familiarity with 1D/2D modelling tools such as Flood Modeller or TUFLOW
- Experience in Sustainable Drainage System (SuDS) design and 3D drainage modelling
- Understanding of UK water industry regulations and health & safety legislation
- Previous site visit and survey experience
- Technical leadership in a multidisciplinary environment
