
Health & Safety Manager

- Support managers in developing and implementing health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives that promote a safe workplace
- Assist in creating, maintaining, and reviewing risk assessments and related documentation
- Oversee the sourcing and provision of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Conduct assessments in areas such as risk, noise, hazardous substances, and manual handling
- Support the management of occupational health surveillance programmes in line with legal requirements
- Investigate incidents and accidents, ensuring corrective and preventative actions are followed through
- Contribute to the ongoing development and improvement of health and safety procedures and practices
- Carry out workplace inspections and audits, providing feedback and recommendations to managers
- Assist managers in identifying training needs and help to coordinate appropriate safety training for employees
- Respond to queries and provide guidance on health and safety matters, drawing on internal and external expertise where necessary
- Collect, analyse, and report on health and safety performance data, including incidents, near misses, and trends
- Work with senior leaders to identify personal development goals in line with professional standards and competency requirements
- Foster strong communication and collaboration between staff and the health and safety function
- Contribute to organizational wellbeing initiatives and safety committees
- Ensure timely, accurate, and relevant reporting of health and safety information to management
- Represent the organization effectively with external bodies, supporting a positive reputation
- Provide general support to the health and safety team, assisting with ad-hoc projects and future initiatives as required
- Undertake other duties as assigned by the Head of Health and Safety
- Ensure employee confidentiality is maintained in line with data protection policies and procedures
- Membership of IOSH (or working towards)
- NEBOSH qualified (or equivalent)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar health and safety role
- Strong IT proficiency and excellent communication skills
- Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues at all levels
- Confident, proactive, and able to work collaboratively
