You’ll be supporting students aged 4–16 who may have experienced trauma, disrupted education, or are vulnerable to exploitation.
You’ll develop practical skills in: early intervention strategies, restorative practice, trauma-informed behaviour support, and building protective factors for at-risk youth.
You’ll gain first-hand insight into the risk factors that lead young people into crime, and how trusted adults can divert them towards safer pathways — a core focus in County Lines disruption work.About the Role – Learning Support Assistant | ReadingAs a Learning Support Assistant, you will:Build trust and rapport as a stable, positive presence in the lives of students with SEMH needsPromote safer choices using restorative, relationship-based approaches to support emotional regulation and decision-makingDeliver tailored support in small classes (4–12 pupils), offering 1:1 and group interventions focused on engagement, confidence, and communicationPrevent exploitation by supporting reintegration into education and building protective routines that reduce the pull of risky environments and peer influenceKey Responsibilities:Serve as a role model and advocate for students navigating adversity
