SEN Teaching AssistantSEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)Location: BristolContract Type: Full-time, Term-Time OnlySalary: £90-£95 per day (dependent on experience)Start Date: September 2025We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive school in Bristol this September. This is a full-time role, ideal for someone with a genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.You will be supporting pupils across Key Stages (depending on the school placement), providing one-to-one and small group support, helping to create a calm and engaging learning environment for pupils with a range of additional needs including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges.Key Responsibilities:
  • Support pupils with SEND in the classroom, helping them to access learning and achieve their targets
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions and individualised support plans
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, encouraging independence and confidence
  • Adapt resources and use a range of strategies to meet pupils' individual learning and behavioural needs
  • Assist with personal care and mobility where necessary (depending on the needs of the child)
  • Contribute to the planning, review, and progress monitoring of pupils with EHCPs
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN in a UK school or care setting
  • A calm, patient, and flexible approach with a genuine commitment to inclusive education
  • A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in education or childcare is desirable but not essential
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths at Grade 4/C or above
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection policies (training will be provided if needed)
  • Must have or be willing to apply for an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
