Job Description:Duxford, Cambridge | Full-time, 37.5 hours | Monday – FridayFixed Term - 18 month contractAre you a hands-on technician with a passion for both electrical systems and instrumentation? If so, we want to hear from you!We’re looking for a Multiskilled Maintenance Technician with an Electrical/Instrumentation bias to join our Engineering and Maintenance team at our top-tier COMAH site in Duxford. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production and packaging plant, reducing downtime, and supporting site safety and compliance.What You’ll Do
  • Perform proactive and reactive maintenance across production and service equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Calibrate and maintain site instrumentation to meet regulatory and safety standards.
  • Support ATEX inspections and installations, ensuring compliance with DSEAR regulations.
  • Ensure all maintenance and calibration records are accurate and audit-ready.
  • Collaborate with engineering colleagues to drive efficiency and reliability.
  • Participate in EHS audits and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.
What You’ll Bring
  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical, Instrumentation, or a related Engineering discipline.
  • Proven experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment (chemical, pharma, or similar).
  • Strong fault-finding skills across electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Familiarity with PLC/SCADA systems, LV switchgear, VSDs, and safety systems.
  • Understanding of regulatory and statutory engineering requirements.
  • A proactive, safety-first mindset with excellent teamwork and communication skills.
Desirable (but not essential)
  • CompEx or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.
  • Experience with SAP PM or similar maintenance management systems.
  • Interest in developing further skills in instrumentation or electrical systems.
