Contract Type: PermanentAbout the Role:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Senior Social Worker to join our Adult Locality Team in Bromley. This role involves working with adults with care and support needs, ensuring they receive person-centred, strengths-based interventions in line with the Care Act 2014.As a Senior Social Worker, you will hold a complex caseload, provide mentorship and supervision to junior staff, and contribute to service development. You will work closely with health professionals, housing services, and voluntary organisations to ensure that adults can live safely and independently in their communities.Key Responsibilities:
  • Complex Casework: Manage a caseload of complex cases, including safeguarding, mental health, and care planning assessments.
  • Needs Assessments: Conduct person-centred assessments in line with the Care Act 2014, ensuring care plans address the unique needs of individuals.
  • Supervision and Support: Provide support and guidance to junior social workers, assisting with professional development and casework challenges.
  • Safeguarding: Lead on safeguarding enquiries and work collaboratively with other agencies to ensure the protection of vulnerable adults.
  • Collaborative Working: Build strong relationships with health professionals, housing services, voluntary organisations, and other stakeholders to deliver integrated care.
  • Legislative Compliance: Ensure all work complies with relevant legislation, including the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS).
  • Service Development: Contribute to team discussions and initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and outcomes for service users.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with statutory timescales and policies.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
  • Degree in Social Work (or equivalent) from a UK university
  • Registration with Social Work England
  • Substantial post-qualification experience in adult social care
  • Significant post-qualification experience in adult social care, with a strong focus on complex case management.
  • Previous experience in mentoring or supervising less experienced social workers is desirable
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation, including the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Awareness of local resources and services available to support adults in the community.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills to manage complex cases effectively.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for working with service users, families, and professionals.
  • Proficiency in using case management IT systems.
