
SEN Teaching Assistant

- £90-105 per day

- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with diverse SEN requirements
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons
- Support students with personal care needs where appropriate
- Help develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs)
- Encourage student independence and social skills development
- Assist with behaviour management using positive reinforcement strategies
- Support students during breaks, lunchtimes, and school activities
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and incidents
- Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external professionals
- Full driving licence (essential due to school location)
- Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Understanding of different types of learning difficulties and disabilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and resilience
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
- Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
- Training in specific SEN areas (Autism, ADHD, etc.)
- First Aid certification
- Experience in a secondary school environment
- Knowledge of Makaton or other communication systems
