- Produce accurate and technically correct models, drawings and sketches comprising general arrangement layouts, sections and details using appropriate drawing software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Plant 3D and Revit.
- Implement our clients’ UK drawing standards in relation to CAD, Revit and BIM, including the checking of work prepared by others.
- Produce accurate and technically correct Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s), as well as Single Line Electrical Diagrams (SLD’s).
- Contribute to the development of electronic models/drawings prepared by others to form the basis of our clients’ Water models/drawings.
- Liaising with design professionals, manufacturers and suppliers in connection with the preparation of models, drawings and details.
- Prepare copies of drawings for issue together with any printing, folding and document preparation.
- Follow appropriate procedures for issue of drawings, calculations and specifications, including issuing electronic copies of drawings, models and information by e-mail, and/or CDE.
- Responsible for filing of all incoming and outgoing drawings, models and information in accordance with our clients’ UK procedures.
- Be able to advise other BIM Coordinators on the correct details and sections to create from models.
- Develop details from Engineer’s sketches with minimum assistance to complete working drawings.
- Produce drawings using the most efficient and cost-effective method without affecting quality or technical accuracy, to include only required information within timeframe and fee scales agreed with the Engineer.
- Respond to queries on drawings from external consultants, clients and contractors as necessary, ensuring responses are recorded and actioned.
- Review and comment of fabrication/specialists’ drawings and models, discuss and return comments to the Project Manager.
- Represent our clients’ UK at external Client meetings if required.
- Assist with the preparation of Engineering Submissions and business development material with 3D sketches, models, etc.
- Contribute to the drafting of ISO19650 documentation for use on projects, including BIM Execution Plans etc.
- Proficient in the use of 3D modelling software and BIM processes required to comply with project requirements, and able to provide advice on standards and software issues.
- Provide on the job support and mentoring to employees with less experience, including appropriate drawing production, modelling and processes.
- Contribute to Tendering activities, as well as providing input into costing exercises in collaboration with the BIM Manager.
- GCSE, “O” Level or equivalent in at least five subjects, including Maths and English.
- HND or equivalent qualification in BIM.
- Knowledge of administration systems and construction.
- Demonstrable experience of working as a BIM Coordinator with elements of the Senior BIM Coordinator type role
- Fully conversant with Water Industry standards, terminology, equipment, materials and suppliers.
- Have demonstrable experience on several multi-discipline schemes collaborating with various internal and external consultants and suppliers.
