- Station Quarter Regeneration – Play a key role in one of the most significant urban regeneration projects in the East of England
- Strategic Development – Handle complex planning applications and development agreements that shape sustainable growth
- Section 106 Expertise – Negotiate and draft agreements that deliver essential infrastructure and community benefits
- Planning Committee Advocacy – Regular opportunities to present to elected members and influence decision-making
- Infrastructure Delivery – Work on highways and transport projects that connect communities and enable economic growth
- Manage a diverse caseload of planning and highways matters from initial advice through to completion
- Draft and negotiate Section 106 agreements and planning obligations
- Attend Planning Committee meetings on a rota basis to provide expert legal advice to elected members
- Advise on complex development proposals, including major regeneration schemes
- Handle planning appeals, enforcement matters, and judicial review challenges
- Work on highways agreements, adoption processes, and transport infrastructure projects
- Collaborate with planning officers, developers, and external stakeholders on major projects
- Support the delivery of the Council's growth agenda through robust legal frameworks
- Qualified Solicitor with current practicing certificate, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEx
- Strong planning law experience with knowledge of development processes
- Experience with Section 106 agreements and planning obligations
- Understanding of highways law and infrastructure delivery
- Confident communication skills for committee presentations and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to manage complex, multi-party negotiations
- Interest in urban development and regeneration projects
- Commercial awareness and understanding of development economics
