By joining our team, you’ll contribute to our shared mission of protecting global industrial operations and shaping the future of environmental stewardship.JOB SUMMARY:The Production Team Leader will be responsible for supporting the Production Manager/s and Team Leaders (Supers) in ensuring the most effective and safe operations, meeting targets and producing quality products. They will also lead their team, setting the best examples possible.Main Responsibilities:
  • Focus on the metrics of Safety/EHS. OTIF, DL% and MM% (MM focus is defect eradication)
  • Follow, police and manage all Safety/EHS systems, processes and promote EHS culture.
  • Use SIC (Shirt Interval Control) to manage main KPIs, Schedule and exceptions/issues.
  • Be present in the Area/Cell as much as possible – have a presence within the team constantly.
  • Ensuring the most effective & efficient distribution of labour in the team and across site.
  • Ensure WDDLs (When Down Do Lists) are followed to maximise labour efficiencies.
  • Micro-manage the hourly, daily and weekly Schedules to ensure key bottleneck areas never stop and the weekly plan and OTIF targets are delivered. Run through breaks on Bottlenecks, move labour regular etc.
  • Performing Informal Discussions with team members to tackle issues.
  • Performing Team Briefings when required, ensure attendance is documented if necessary
  • To be responsible during overtime hours that’s the expected work is done efficiently meeting required output to plan.
  • Ensuring team members within the Cell are working in safe environment and are following H&S precautions – PPE worn at all times, work area clean and tidy.
  • Ensuring that team members adhere to the company’s Policies & Procedures, at all times.
  • Escalation of any issues to higher management, when necessary and in a timely manner.
  • Completing Daily Production checks sheet and updating local area display/KPI/SIC Boards
  • Support the investigation of Customer Complaints & Remakes immediately, find perm’ route cause fixes.
  • Providing a list of absentees to Team Leader (Super) or Production Manager.
  • Ensuring team is working towards agreed production targets and reporting out daily counts etc
  • Actively interacting with colleagues and Management.
  • Use appropriate Data, reports and Dashboards (FDS/Scanning, Fourjaw etc) as required.
  • T&D (Training & Development) – support development of Cell plans and validate training.
  • Liaise with relevant stakeholders, from whatever areas to deliver the objectives of the roll.
  • Ensure all Samples & Showroom products made are independently inspected and signed off.
  • Ensure the working environment is always safe and has the WOW factor when customers visit.
  • Ensure the highest Housekeeping/5S standards and ‘’Clean as you go’ is enforced & coached.
  • Undergo Lean Manufacturing training to be able to promote a Lean Manufacturing mindset (SIC, 5S, 8 Wastes, RACI, Fool Proofing, TPM etc.).
  • Ensure Overtime is limited to a minimum and is critical and get it pre-approved/signed-off.
  • Efficiency focus, ensure improvements identified and fix pushed through. Use scanning/Fourjaw downtime analysis, Quality data and get ideas form Teams, Suppliers etc.
  • Support and mentor you Team members and communicate with them re individual Performance
  • To be Responsible for locking up the buildings at the end shifts when not covered and in overtime hours
  • Act as a cover for the production manager when on holiday / Absent from the site ensuring all areas are running efficiently and safely

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Familiar with H&S law
  • Relevant vocational qualification fabrication and welding
  • Extensive hands-on experience in fabrication & welding
  • Strong & demonstrated leadership skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Familiar with lean manufacturing techniques
  • Experience with quality control and problem solving
  • Computer Literate in MS Office
