
Support Worker

- Assist care leavers in developing independence and life skills, including budgeting, cooking, and maintaining a clean home.
- Provide emotional support, encouragement, and mentoring to build self-esteem and resilience.
- Support young people in accessing education, training, and employment opportunities.
- Help with managing appointments, benefits, and tenancy responsibilities.
- Advocate for young people and ensure their voices are heard in decision-making processes.
- Promote a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
- Identify and report safeguarding concerns following company policies and procedures.
- Work in partnership with social workers, mental health services, and other professionals to ensure young people's well-being.
- Support young people with managing relationships, self-care, and mental health.
- Assist in maintaining a safe and comfortable living environment.
- Encourage personal hygiene and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Support young people with tenancy agreements and understanding their housing rights.
- Maintain accurate records of support plans, progress reports, and incidents.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, external agencies, and professionals involved in the young person's care.
- Attend team meetings, training, and supervision sessions.
- Experience working with young people, preferably care leavers or vulnerable groups.
- Understanding of safeguarding, mental health, and trauma-informed care.
- Excellent communication, empathy, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
- A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check or willingness to undergo one.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Experience working in a supported housing or social care setting.
- Knowledge of housing rights, benefits, and support services for care leavers.
- Driving license
