
Urology Specialist Nurse

- To work closely with the Director of Clinical Services, Nursing Teams and Consultant Urologists to provide an expert nursing service to Urology patients.
- To provide education and training to all levels of staff within and outside the hospital where there is an identified need.
- To provide leadership in the area of Urology and act as a resource and role model of advanced nursing practice.
- To assist the Director of Clinical Services in planning the service needs, developing the scope of the service and participating in meetings and working groups as required.
- To promote excellent customer service throughout the hospital, facilitating and co-ordinating corporate and local customer service initiatives and providing appropriate support to colleagues.
- To support staff within the hospital to deliver high quality services to patients and their families.
- To continually maintain competence and show evidence of professional development as required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- NMC registered Nurse
- Qualified in appropriate clinical skills - cannulation, venepuncture, male catheterisation, intravesical drug administration, stent removal
- Significant Urological experience at a senior level
- Experience of working within teams and carrying case load
- Experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes
- Proficient mentor and clinical supervisor
- Ability to manage teams (Desirable)
