- Provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment planning for adult patients.
- Engage in business and corporate decision-making processes to improve mental health services.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate patient care and treatment.
- Stay updated with current developments in psychiatry and ensure adherence to the Mental Health Act 1983.
- Contribute to change management initiatives and address purchaser/provider contractual issues.
- Provide guidance and leadership to junior staff and trainees in the department.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to service development strategies.
- Medically qualified with GMC registration and a license to practice.
- MRC Psych or equivalent qualifications.
- Completion of Core Psychiatry Training (CT1–CT3) and Higher Specialist Training (ST4–ST6).
- Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) confirming eligibility for consultant psychiatrist roles.
- Recognized medical degree (e.g., MBBS, MBChB) from a GMC-approved institution.
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in psychiatry, including prior consultant experience in a management role.
- Expertise in psychiatric diagnosis and treatment.
- Knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 and its applications.
- Experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and projects.
- Familiarity with mental health service regulations and change management practices.
- Salary: £125,000 - £160,000 annual salary commensurate with experience.
- Relocation package available for candidates not local to the hospital site.
- Work hours: 36–42 hours per week, with shift patterns dependent on hospital requirements.
