We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to elderly residents in a care home setting, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. You will work closely with residents to implement care plans and assist with daily activities while fostering a warm and supportive environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead and supervise are vital for this position.Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support residents in daily living activities such as meal preparation, medication management, and mobility assistance.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Supervise junior staff members and provide guidance to ensure high standards of care are maintained.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to address any concerns or needs.
- Maintain accurate records of resident care and report any changes in health or behaviour to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all residents.
- Previous experience in senior care or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise and motivate a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Knowledge of IT systems related to care documentation is advantageous.
- A compassionate approach towards elderly individuals and an understanding of their needs.
- Ability to drive may be beneficial for transporting residents as required.
- Relevant qualifications in health and social care would be an asset.
