Azure Technical ArchitectOur client, a leading global supplier for IT services, requires an experienced Azure Technical Architect ( IAAS and Platform) to be based at their client’s office in London, UK.This is a hybrid position, offering remote work within the UK, with an expectation to attend the London office 3-4 days per weekThis is a 6+ month temporary contract to start asapDay rate: Competitive Market rateKey Responsibilities
  • Should own the Architecture responsibility (end to end), designing complex on premises and cloud solution
  • Overall governance of Azure Infrastructure and Platform
  • Design and Architecture knowledge for Azure Landing zone
  • Closely working on IAAS and Platform projects aligned with different support teams, Technical Architect, Security Team, Service Manager through a DevOps board
  • Management of Azure Landing Zone subscription hosting Infrastructure components
  • Migration of Application Workload from Legacy Management group and Subscriptions to Azure Landing Zone management group and subscriptions
  • Deliver Server using CIS hardened image for 2019/2022, App Services, SQL Managed Instance, SQL Database Server. Ensure high availability of services
  • Deliver secure way of network routing using Application Gateway, Azure Firewall, Network Security Group
  • Design and configuration of point-to-site and site-to-site for high secure VPN connectivity from end user’s device and Sizewell C various offices and sites
  • Configuration of Data Lake storage, ensuring security hardening. compliance of backup and restoration
  • Integration of IAAS, PAAS and SAAS application with Microsoft Entra ID (AAD) for secure access through SAML SSO
  • Maintain the lifecycle of Enterprise Application and App registration certificate
  • Closely working with Security Architect and Team to adhere zero-trust architecture by securing server policy, group policy, defender etc
  • Tenant security – DDOS, Azure Firewall policy creation and maintain of Application, Network rule along with IDPS to ensure all the inbound/ outbound traffic managed via AZFW
  • Password management, disk encryption management through Azure Key Vault limiting access
  • Working with the network team and Site IT to ensure smooth go-live of new Sizewell C sites and ensure internet and print functionality
  • Closely working with Lead Architect, Technical Architect to review the design and implement resources based on the approved design
  • Third party vendor management mostly Microsoft Azure Support
  • Work with TAM and dedicated Solution Architect to ensure new features and updates are discussed and implemented based on requirement
  • Work with many different support organisations carrying out Auditing, Costing, Governance etc
  • DevOps and IAC ( Terraform
Key Requirements
  • MS Azure solution architect certified
  • Strong knowledge on designing azure infrastructure and platform
  • Designing expertise on Azure landing zone using DevOps, Github and Terraform
  • Strong expertise on Azure and Cloud network
  • Facilitate and lead client configuration planning meetings and articulate pros & cons of design/ architecture decision across a wide spectrum of factors
  • A good understanding and exposure to Microsoft enterprise services frameworks and practices
  • The role must have strong on premises and Cloud Integrations skills
  • Good understanding of competitive technologies to properly assess feasibility to integrate with customer solutions and understanding of Agile life-cycle
  • Should be Core On premises, Azure Solution Architect and have high experience in solution designing
  • Experience in architecting significant infrastructure and must have worked as Azure Technical Architect
  • Good overall understanding of IT infrastructure design, IT operations and Experience in developing High Level and Low-Level Designs to meet Customer requirements
  • Leading technical workshops, decision meetings, collaborative sessions, and deliver executive briefings related to the project.
  • Good Knowledge on Windows 2016, Windows 2019 Server Operating Systems
  • Provide guidance based on best practices through projects lifecycle and/or plan, manage migrations and implementations of cloud architecture, including hands-on deep dive when required.
  • Leading the teams during Major Incidents and provide recommendations on fastest path to the major incident recovery or supporting technical delivery teams with root cause analysis for Major Incidents
  • Experience with PowerShell
  • Strong working experience on Windows Servers 2019, 2022
  • Good to have hands on working experience upgrading Windows server operating system
  • Certification and experienced Architecture
  • Experience of working on both SAFE / AGILE project delivery
  • Should be well versed in creating issue documentation and technical FAQs
  • Should have excellent communication skills, the role is to work along with customer, understand their business/technical requirement and design Domain Merger, Identity management, solutions which is best suited for the environment
Special Working Conditions:
  • Must be willing to work outside regular hours when required, subject to prior discussion and approval from the Project Manager
  • Expected to work from the designated office location – London Office
  • BPSS clearance is preferred for this role
