Location: Kent, UKA leading UK energy provider is seeking an experienced Lead Balance of Plant Engineer to join the engineering team at a modern combined-cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power station in Kent. This is a critical role focused on maintaining and improving key mechanical systems that support the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the plant.As part of a dedicated on-site engineering team, you will play a vital role in supporting the station’s mission to deliver secure, flexible energy today while enabling the UK’s transition to net zero.Key Responsibilities:Lead the delivery of effective maintenance and outage strategies across all Balance of Plant (BoP) systems, including heat recovery steam generators (HRSGs), steam systems, pumps, cooling towers, and associated mechanical infrastructure.Provide expert technical support and guidance to site teams and stakeholders, ensuring plant performance, availability, and safety are optimised.Ensure compliance with relevant statutory requirements, including the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR), and drive best practices in technical governance and asset management.Manage budgets and contracts related to mechanical systems, working closely with key suppliers and maintenance partners.Champion a proactive approach to engineering standards, safety culture, and continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.What We’re Looking For:Strong background in mechanical engineering within the power generation or a similar industrial environment.Experience with HRSGs, steam systems, and familiarity with PSSR compliance requirements.Solid understanding of Balance of Plant systems and their role in power station operations.Degree-qualified (or equivalent experience) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage technical interfaces and contractors effectively.A commitment to operational excellence, health & safety, and high-performance engineering.This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer to make a meaningful impact at a key energy infrastructure site, working within a supportive team that values innovation, safety, and sustainability.Ready to take the next step in your engineering career?
