- Respond promptly to new referrals, completing timely assessments under statutory duties, including Section 17 and Section 47 of the Children Act 1989.
- Conduct comprehensive Child & Family Assessments to determine needs, risks, and appropriate interventions.
- Make informed threshold decisions and identify the most appropriate level of support or intervention.
- Participate in multi-agency strategy discussions and joint visits with professionals such as police when safeguarding concerns arise.
- Lead Section 47 enquiries to assess and manage risk to children.
- Present cases at legal planning meetings and progress matters to PLO or court proceedings when necessary.
- Undertake meaningful direct work with children and families, ensuring their voice is central to assessment and planning.
- Collaborate with schools, health, early help services and other agencies to ensure effective, coordinated support.
- Produce clear, evidence-based reports for Child Protection Conferences, LAC Reviews, and court hearings.
- Apply the Signs of Safety model to assess and respond to risk and need.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date case records on the case management system.
- Registration with Social Work England
- A recognised Social Work degree or equivalent qualification
