Job DescriptionJob Reference: JH/SP/BCKHJob Title: Personal AssistantResponsible to: Directly accountable to and taking direction from the employer and the employer's representative (Mum)Hours: 5 hours per weekWork Pattern: Wednesday's: 3pm - 8pmHourly Rate of Pay: £14.53 per hourBased at: Employer's own home in AmershamJob PurposeTo work one to one with a Child with Pallister Killian Syndrome and a Brain Injury. To support the child with his day to day living, support with personal care and to help develop his quality of life.Main duties:To support with:
  • Personal care (washing, dressing, brushing teeth etc)
  • Assisting medication and peg feeding (once properly trained)
  • On occasions, light household tasks such as cleaning, changing the bed, washing
  • Transfers whilst in and out of the wheelchair (once trained on manual handling)
  • Child has a hoist
  • To perform such other duties as may reasonably be required.
Personal Specification
  • Flexible in the hours and times that you can work.
  • Have a good sense of humour and enjoy a friendly joke.
  • You should have a thorough understanding of personal safety.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • A willingness to undergo any training highlighted by the employer.
  • You should have some knowledge and understanding of risks.
  • Have an awareness and knowledge of equal opportunities.
