They will be involved in producing accurate and timely commercial reporting, providing insight to support the finance strategy of Finisterre.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESREPORTING
  • End to end delivery and ownership of accurate, timely, relevant reporting and accounting information, including management accounts pack and bi-monthly Board reporting
  • Ownership of the month-end close process, meeting the 5-day target
  • Managing the year-end audit process and delivery of statutory reporting for Finisterre UK Limited, Fitzroy Apparel Limited and Finisterre CIC Limited
COMMERCIAL
  • Monitoring and analysing financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and providing recommendations to optimise results
  • Effective stakeholder communication: effectively communicate financial results, insights and recommendations to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Present financial information in a clear and concise manner
FINANCE OPS
  • Responsible for all transactional finance: Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll (preparation and liaison with outsourced payroll company)
  • Implement and enforce effective financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to promote efficiency and accuracy in financial operations
SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES
  • Be the primary point of contact for the ERP system (NetSuite), ensuring its effective utilisation and optimisation for financial operations. Collaborate with Head of IT and ERP vendors to enhance system functionality and resolve any issues or concerns
  • Drive the transactional services function forward through implementation and effective use of the new expense management platform
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance with a focus on automation in everything we do
TREASURY
  • Manage cashflow and treasury functions, including working capital management, cashflow forecasting, hedging and banking relationships
COMPLIANCE
  • Ensure the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements including Tax & VAT
  • Ensure all Companies House filings are completed and submitted on time for Finisterre UK Limited, Fitzroy Apparel Limited, Finisterre CIC
  • Work with internal stakeholders to submit annual R&D claim
TEAM
  • Lead and mentor a team of three, fostering a culture of continuous learning, growth, and collaboration
  • Ensure effective and clear communication to the team of business strategy and departmental roadmap
  • Lead by example, embodying the company values at all times
  • Build strong working relationships between the finance team and the rest of the business
  • Catch the team getting it right, in terms of company knowledge and behaviours
  • Keep a culture of open communication and feedback within the team and its direct contacts
  • Train the team in areas relating to diversity and inclusion, and maintain high standards of appropriate activity

  • Carry out regular appraisals and one-to-one reviews, agree and review targets and training plans, and support employees in achieving them
RequirementsWHAT YOU’LL BRING TO FINISTERRE
  • A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA), preferably chartered
  • Relevant experience in a multi-channel retail business
  • A solid track record of technical accounting stills
  • A consummate finance professional, commercially astute and digitally experienced
  • An independent thinker with strong intellect and power of analysis, who takes a keen interest in solving complex and challenging problems
  • Excellent leadership with a hands-on approach when needed
  • Experience in NetSuite preferred
  • Excellent self-awareness, communication, networking and interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful, creative and entirely flexible: thrives on change
