Want to take the lead on complex financial reporting and help shape technical accounting strategy at Group level?We’re hiring a Technical Accounting & Statutory Reporting Specialist to join our Group Finance team. Based in either our Edinburgh or London office, you’ll lead on statutory reporting, provide expert technical guidance, and play a key role in the delivery of high-quality Group financial statements.This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant with a deep understanding of IFRS and experience navigating the complexities of group-level reporting in a fast-paced environment.What you’ll be doing:You’ll act as the key technical lead for our Group financial reporting, helping ensure our consolidated accounts meet all relevant standards and providing trusted advice on accounting treatment for new and evolving projects.Day to day, you’ll:
- Lead the Group’s consolidated statutory reporting process
- Own and manage the IFRS-compliant year-end and quarterly reporting timetable
- Provide expert technical accounting advice to the Group including advising on the application of IFRS 15, IFRS 2, IFRS 9, and IAS 36 as required
- Prepare technical papers on accounting policy and new regulations
- Support the preparation and presentation of quarterly finance updates to the Audit Committee
- Liaise with external auditors, addressing technical questions and presenting new treatments
- Oversee purchase price allocation (PPA) projects and work with external advisors on disclosures
- Provide training and guidance to finance colleagues across the Group
- Continuously improve reporting templates, disclosures and internal processes
- Full professional qualification (e.g. ACA, ICAS, ACCA or equivalent)
- Significant experience in IFRS-based statutory reporting
- In-depth technical knowledge of key standards including IFRS 15, IFRS 2, IFRS 9, IAS 36
- Experience drafting and reviewing statutory accounts for complex organisations
- Strong report writing skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to advise both finance and non-finance teams
- Previous audit or large corporate accounting background preferred
- Experience managing external auditor relationships and contributing to clean audits
