SEND Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Wilmslow)
Start Date: September | Daily Rate: £89 – £100 | Full-TimeAre you patient, nurturing, and passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Wilmslow is looking for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September.This is a rewarding role where you’ll work closely with students who have a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.Key Responsibilities:Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with identified SENDAdapt learning materials to suit individual learning styles and needsAssist teachers in delivering a differentiated and inclusive curriculumMonitor and support emotional wellbeing and classroom engagementBuild trusting relationships with students and act as a consistent, calming presenceWork closely with the SENCO and wider support team to track progress and contribute to EHCP reviewsIdeal Candidate:Experience working with children or young people with SEND (in school, care, or support settings)Calm, resilient, and empathetic with a genuine desire to help students achieveExcellent communication and teamwork skillsConfident in managing behaviour positively and supportivelyReliable, proactive, and open to professional developmentDesirable (but not essential):Knowledge of EHCPs and strategies for supporting specific needs (e.g. ASD, SEMH)Teaching Assistant qualification or relevant trainingGCSEs (or equivalent) in English and MathsWhy Apply?Make a real difference in the lives of young peopleJoin a supportive school community that values inclusion and wellbeing
