- Managing and leading a high performing team of Accountants and Senior Accountants, ensuring resource levels, capacity and skills are aligned with operational delivery of accounting processes and reporting requirements
- Ensuring compliance with Burberry policies and SLAs, including operating effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business, anticipating and responding to needs to inform and develop mutually agreeable solutions
- Understanding the wider business priorities and ways of working, using this to drive simplification, standardisation and automation to deliver more effective, efficient and robust ways of working
- Effectively managing change by identifying opportunities aligned with Finance team and wider business objectives, facilitating implementation, monitoring and improving results
- Encouraging issue identification, implementing corrective and preventive action plans to resolve and mitigate problems
- Deputising for the Senior Manager to lead discussions on a broader department level as needed
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with at least 1 year PQE
- Experience in a similar supervisory/management role in a large, corporate business, ideally within a Shared Service Centre environment with an international remit
- Demonstrable people management experience, across hiring, training and retaining finance talent. Can provide examples of effective leadership and getting the best out of people, including during demanding periods
- Technical, hands on accounting knowledge applying IFRS or local GAAP
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to influence and build effective relationships to drive collaboration
- Track record and appetite for delivering continuous improvement
- Fluent in English (both written and spoken) essential
