Reporting directly to the Senior Treasury Manager, the Project Accountant will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive accounting support to the finance team. This position involves overseeing intercompany positions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards, and actively engaging as a key business partner across various finance functions.Responsibilities of the Project Accountant include:
  • Assist with the monthly reporting in accordance with the group's timetable, local GAAP and IFRS. This includes full reconciliations on balance sheet accounts and the production of management accounts with commentary.
  • Partner with the Intercompany Accountant to validate the accuracy of all intercompany transactions, proactively resolving discrepancies by engaging with regional finance teams.
  • Contribute to the annual audit process, ensuring adherence to group controls and timely submission of group filings.
  • Actively participate in driving process improvement initiatives across the organisation, identifying areas for enhancement and implementing effective solutions to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
The successful Project Accountant will require:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and/or professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Working knowledge of SAP S4/HANA.
  • Relevant financial accounting experience, particularly around resolving intercompany mismatches and balance sheet substantiations.
  • Strong control focus and the ability to adapt / build processes to ensure that controls are operationally effective.
  • Understanding of the SOx framework and application and development of controls.
  • Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, demonstrating strong organisational and time management skills.
