
Senior Sustainability Consultant - GHG Accounting and ESG Advisory

- Delivery of city/regional carbon reduction programmes;
- Development of carbon management strategies, including Net Zero strategies;
- Carbon footprint and greenhouse gas reporting, and associated ESG disclosures;
- Identification and assessment of energy saving opportunities and investment case support;
- Green building certification assurance on real estate capital projects;
- Estates decarbonisation plan and heat decarbonisation plans; and
- Net Zero programme management and delivery.
- GHG Inventories: Prepare Greenhouse Gas (GHG) inventories for corporations, cities, and sectors in line with ISO 14064 and the GHG Protocol.
- Decarbonisation Strategies: Develop and deploy tools for GHG baseline emission calculations and forecasting. Design and implement decarbonisation roadmaps with clearly defined targets and timelines aligned with SBTi and national climate goals.
- Carbon Markets and Pricing: Provide technical expertise on carbon markets, emissions trading schemes, and voluntary carbon offsetting.
- ESG and Sustainability Reporting: Support clients with ESG and sustainability reporting frameworks (e.g., CDP, ISSB, ESRS, GRI, CSRD, SEC Climate Disclosure).
- Climate Policy Analysis: Advise on regulatory and policy developments related to climate change, including corporate climate disclosures, Scope 3 emissions, and carbon taxation
- Suitably qualified in a related subject or appropriate industry experience;
- Strong knowledge of climate-related regulatory frameworks, such as TCFD, ISSB, IPCC reports, ESG disclosure requirements, GHG inventories, lifecycle assessments (LCA), and corporate sustainability frameworks
- Experience in developing ISO 14064 GHG inventories of scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions
- Ability to review, analyse and benchmark GHG data and carbon emissions calculations in the built environment, including use of international conversions and benchmarks;
- Experience in developing decarbonisation strategies with costed pathways
- Experience in carbon markets
- Experience in climate policy analysis

- Competent user of data management software (for example Excel) and systems for data cleansing, management, analytics, and quality assurance;
- Experience of line management;
- Experience of business development including preparing proposals and inputting into competitive tenders;
- Experience in a consulting or advisory role;
- Knowledge of embodied or whole life carbon calculation or strategy on refurbishment and new build projects
- Professional certifications such as ISO 14064 Lead Verifier, CFA in ESG Investing, or GARP SCR are advantageous.
- Strategy/project delivery experience in the built environment
- Experience of working with corporate clients, FTSE companies or global businesses.
- Experience with developing climate finance strategies, including pathways for green investments and transition finance.
- Experience in conduct climate risk modelling and scenario analysis, including evaluating RCP/SSP scenarios, stress testing, and projection models.
- Experience in financial and economic risk analysis and understanding the monetary impacts of climate risks
- Experience in utilising Life Cycle Assessment tools to analyse embodied carbon in infrastructure and master planning projects.
