Doncaster College is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Lecturer in Maths (GCSE & Functional Skills) to join our English, Maths & ESOL team. This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners in developing essential numeracy skills and achieving their qualifications.About the RoleYou will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in GCSE and Functional Skills Maths across a range of further education programmes. You’ll support learners through innovative teaching methods, effective assessment, and personalised guidance to help them reach their full potential.Essential CriteriaTo be successful in this role, you must have:
  • A relevant degree or Level 3 qualification in mathematics.
  • A teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one.
  • GCSEs (grades 4–9/A–C) or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Experience in a lecturing or training role within FE or HE.
  • Subject expertise and knowledge of innovative teaching techniques.
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging lessons in GCSE and Functional Skills Maths.
  • Develop curriculum materials and assess student progress.
  • Lead and coordinate course teams and contribute to course verification.
  • Support student recruitment and meet enrolment targets.
  • Participate in quality assurance, curriculum development, and staff development activities.
