Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianLocation: Quarry Road, Wenvoe, Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, CF56AAPay: £16.64 per hourContract: Full-time | TemporaryAbout the Role:We're looking for a skilled and versatile Maintenance Technician to join the Building Services team at the Vale of Glamorgan Council. Whether your background is in bricklaying, carpentry, plumbing, painting, glazing, plastering, or general maintenance, you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality repair and maintenance services across council properties.What You'll Do
  • Carry out reactive, planned, and cyclical maintenance works to industry standards
  • Diagnose and complete repairs efficiently using a Schedule of Rates
  • Work flexibly across multiple trades, with training provided as needed
  • Use and maintain tools, vehicles, and materials safely and effectively
  • Record work completed accurately, including time, materials, and codes
  • Support and mentor apprentices or trainees when required
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety, council policies, and environmental standards
  • Be open to working outside normal hours when service requires
