- Deliver: Provide feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design, community engagement, project delivery and construction management services on a wide range of multi-disciplinary transportation and urban realm projects. Deliver work from the Birmingham office in conjunction with other teams across the UK and Ireland and our Global delivery centres.
- Oversee: Plan and develop engineering tasks concerned with unique problems, including exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches.
- Provide Expertise: Offer knowledge and expertise to the design team on all aspects of multi-disciplinary projects, from conceptual phases to implementation.
- Ensure Quality: Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects, overcome problems in collaboration with our Clients. Ensure our schemes are delivered to the highest quality in line with AECOM's quality procedures and Project Delivery System.
- Collaborate: Support a team of multi-disciplinary consultants to deliver integrated designs and build effective relationships with our technical teams and Clients.
- Provide technical leadership on projects or packages of work for traffic engineering schemes.
- Prepare detailed technical reports, technical specifications and cost estimates.
- Act as an AECOM accredited Project Manager, managing the financial performance of projects. (Comprehensive training on AECOM's project management system will be provided).
- Lead on quality management and ensure compliance of designs with the requirements of the brief, all applicable standards, regulations and AECOM quality procedures.
- Prepare detailed proposals, client briefs and fee proposals and contribute to or lead bids.
- Undertake Health & Safety duties including ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for the project team and fulfilling all CDM responsibilities including safety in design
- Undertake client-facing project duties, representing AECOM as the key point of contact.
- Undertake line manager responsibilities for junior staff, providing guidance, management and career planning and completing annual performance evaluations.
- Support the technical and professional development of members of the team, sharing knowledge, managing their input into projects and mentoring them towards professional qualification.
- A relevant degree and have, or be working towards, Chartered status with a recognised Professional Institution
- A successful track record in the project management and delivery of traffic engineering schemes.
- Knowledge and experience of relevant design and safety standards (e.g. DMRB, TSRGD, MCHW, LTN 1/20, Manual for Streets, CDM Regulations).
- Excellent technical and communication skills.
- An ability to deal directly with clients.
