Please note this vacancy is only open to current University of Glasgow employees.Job PurposeGlasgow Changing Futures (GCF) is seeking a person to lead on the development and management of processes and data-informed systems that will enable the delivery of our strategic programme. This will include planning and managing the new GCF Seed Fund. The role will ensure the effective synthesis of information on GCF activities, stakeholder engagement information, the seed funding process, and evaluations of impact. It will enable GCF to deliver best practices, enhance institutional learning, and strengthen partnerships.The role holder will design and implement processes to enable GCF seed funding opportunities, including establishing a stewardship programme for applicants and recipients, ensuring sustained support, learning, and connectivity throughout their engagement with GCF. The role holder will also support the collation and use of further information that enhances GCF's stakeholder network, relationship pipeline, reporting, and evaluation. They will plan and manage our first impact evaluation framework and associated reporting processes.The postholder will provide professional guidance, foster collaboration, and contribute to the strategic direction of GCF through evidence-based insights, capacity building in information system management, and partner management.Main Duties and Responsibilities1. In collaboration with the GCF leadership, plan and deliver an effective, innovative model for GCF seed funding, including processes for managing applications, evaluation criteria for awarding funds, funding delivery, project support, reporting, and post award follow-up.2. Ensure the GCF seed fund's mission is shared, understood and supported across the University. Deliver informed messaging in collaboration with communication colleagues from Research Services e.g. development of supportive webpages and comms plan, including events. Provide expert guidance to applicants, including but not limited to: scope and costings, evaluation, awards process, post award reporting and follow-on or alternative funding.3. Develop and deliver an applicant stewardship package for GCF seed funds, pre- and post- award, establishing the collaborations needed to make this effective including with partners from Research and Innovation Services, as well as in Colleges.4. Monitor and manage seed fund spend versus budget, and report quarterly.5. Develop a structured database with the capacity to map engagement with the seed fund process as part of a relationship 'pipeline', with the scope to also include information on a GCF 'stakeholder network' within, and eventually, beyond the University, which can be used to synthesize, analyse and report on the scope of GCF activities.6. Integrate management information from GCF seed funding with the database to deliver analysis and insight that supports the deepening or expansion of relationships. Identify how this information can be shared visually e.g. network analysis, with University colleagues in a way that permits strategic discussion about the strengths of and potential for Glasgow's partnerships.7. Build and maintain active, collaborative working relationships with similar seed fund activities across the University. Identify opportunities to integrate and co-develop activities as appropriate so that processes are streamlined and effective. Reflect sector best practice in this.8. Explore, recommend and deliver further information and data sets from GCF activities within the GCF database, so that activities are optimised and open to impact analysis and reporting. This should include and not be limited to: data that reflects engagement in events and the diversity of that engagement; data on the sustainability of GCF events and activities; data on 'outcomes' beyond the seed fund such as partner introductions, or, connection to other support functions, or, publications. Initiative and innovation should be shown.9. Establish systems to compile reports on the outcomes, outputs and impact of GCF activities that illustrate how they achieve GCF objectives, contributing to the GCF Annual Report and Half-Year update, both of which are delivered at Senior Management Group (SMG) level.10. Engage at a high level with University colleagues generating further types of strategic datasets e.g. on the research funding landscape or academic strengths of the University, establishing what insights GCF can benefit from in this work, and what contributions GCF can make to it.11. Confidently explore and evaluate the potential of external data services and AI methods for enhancing GCF's use of data, making recommendations to the GCF Leadership Team on innovative opportunities.12. Represent and champion the work of GCF at external meetings and conferences. Gain and share insights across the GCF team of relevant best working practices in the higher education context especially as relevant to this role.13. Perform other duties as requested, consistent with the grade level of the position and agreeing appropriate prioritisation of work with line management or other relevant stakeholders as needed.Knowledge, Qualifications, Skills and ExperienceKnowledge/QualificationsEssential:A1 Either: Scottish Credit and Qualification Framework level 9 (Ordinary Degree, Scottish Vocational Qualification level 4) or equivalent, (including professional accreditation with relevant formal training). Experience of personal development in a similar or related roles.
