Start Date: September 2025 / Immediate StartWe are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our team at a school located in Aylesbury, supporting students with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). As a PMLD Teacher, you will be instrumental in fostering a supportive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for students with complex needs. You will collaborate with a range of staff to deliver personalised and effective learning experiences tailored to the individual needs of each student.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement Individualised Education Plans (IEPs) specific to students with PMLD, ensuring clear, achievable educational goalsProvide engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the varied learning styles and needs of students with PMLDWork closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to offer integrated support and ensure a holistic approach to educationRegularly assess and track the progress of students, adapting teaching methods where necessary to support their developmentCommunicate effectively with parents and caregivers, providing updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies for ongoing supportFoster an inclusive classroom atmosphere that promotes acceptance, empathy, and positive interactions amongst all studentsStay current with trends in special education and attend relevant professional development opportunitiesUse appropriate behaviour management techniques to maintain a positive and respectful classroom environment, particularly for students with challenging behavioursRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred)Teaching certification in Special EducationProven experience working with students with PMLD or similar learning disabilitiesA strong understanding of PMLD, developmental disorders, and strategies for supporting students with complex needsExcellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and studentsPassion for creating a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needsAdditional Information:Supply Desk is offering a £100 referral fee for any successful referrals of friends/colleagues who work 5+ shifts.If you are interested in this role, please contact Supply Desk at 01296 752 499 or apply directly.
