- Report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead, leading the design team to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Ensure design solutions are cost-effective, technically compliant, and align with all stakeholder requirements, programme expectations, and engineering design procedures.
- Commit to excellence in Health & Safety (H&S) design, ensuring full compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and legislation.
- Identify, manage, and communicate H&S hazards, mitigating risks to stakeholders effectively.
- Lead the design team, ensuring a focused approach to meet customer requirements and project objectives.
- Oversee design expenditure, drive efficiency, and manage costs to meet allocated resource hours and key dates.
- Organise and document all design elements in the Design Management Plan and prepare regular project status reports.
- Attend and contribute to relevant technical, programme, and project meetings.
- Ensure technical solutions outperform on costs, maintain quality standards, and are delivered on time.
- Provide technical support during construction, assembly, and commissioning stages as required.
- Ensure all work complies with appropriate systems of work, standards, and quality assurance.
- Contribute to sustainability targets by reducing embodied and operational carbon footprints.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with internal and external teams and stakeholders.
- Provide exceptional customer service to clients, customers, and partners, representing the business positively in all contacts.
- Maintain a professional, solution-oriented approach, with open and honest feedback.
- Take on additional responsibilities as required to meet project needs and support the wider team.
- Maintain confidentiality and present a positive, professional image in all interactions.
Essential:
- Extensive experience in multi-disciplinary design management within a design-build environment.
- Degree in an engineering-related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer in an engineering-related discipline or actively working towards Chartered status.
- APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Strong understanding of CDM Regulations and construction Health & Safety.
- In-depth knowledge of water/wastewater treatment processes and engineering aspects.
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing resources effectively.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to present technical proposals confidently.
- APM Project Management Qualification or working towards it.
- Experience working in a global organisation or with remote/dispersed teams.
- Previous experience in the Water/Wastewater Treatment Industry.
- Familiarity with BIM procedures and techniques.
- Ability to embrace innovative and collaborative working practices.
