Are you a passionate Drama specialist ready to take the lead in Performing Arts? A School in Dagenham is looking for a dedicated and creative Head of Faculty - Performing Arts (Drama specialism) to join their team from September 2025.This is a full-time, permanent position with a TLR 1B, offering the chance to lead a growing Performing Arts faculty that values creativity, inclusivity, and student engagement. You'll oversee curriculum planning, staff development, and enrichment opportunities across Drama, Music, and Dance - with a focus on delivering exceptional Drama teaching.You'll be joining a school that celebrates the arts as an essential part of the student experience. From school productions to cross-curricular performances, your leadership will help bring the curriculum to life and inspire young people to express themselves through performance.If you're an experienced subject leader or a high-performing Drama teacher ready for a faculty-wide leadership challenge, this is your stage.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the Performing Arts faculty, with a focus on DramaOversee curriculum development, teaching, and assessment across Drama, Music, and DanceSupport, mentor, and develop teaching staff within the facultyDirect and produce school performances, showcases, or productionsPromote creative learning and the role of the arts in the school communityUse data to monitor progress and drive attainmentCollaborate with SLT on whole-school initiatives and strategic prioritiesQualifications and ExperienceQualified Teacher Status (QTS)Strong experience teaching Drama at KS3-KS4 (and ideally KS5)Previous leadership experience or clear potential to lead a facultyAbility to inspire and manage a team of creative practitionersExcellent planning, communication, and organisational skillsA strong track record of student engagement and outcomesPassion for the performing arts and commitment to inclusive educationSchool Staff Direct and our partner school are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.All applicants must have the right to work in the UK and will be subject to enhanced DBS and reference checks.
