Duties to include:
  • Assist the packing manager in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of packing schedules
  • Deliver the weekly packing schedule to the required performance figure, set annually in the yearly objectives
  • Ensure product is packed to the required GMP standards and operators demonstrate GMP requirements through recruitment, training and reviews
  • Lead and address day-to-day production issues and communicate effectively with relevant departments
  • Investigate non-conformances to the correct standard
  • Ensure all cell audit actions are closed with a permanent solution
  • Support the QA department through timely release of BPRs
  • Measure, monitor and review cell OEE to achieve department targets
  • Manage line leaders to ensure line performance and GMP standards are maintained
  • Manage line technicians' training, performance and reviews
  • Set and maintain standards through training, SOPs, work instructions, audits and reviews
  • Manage staff through interviews, reviews, counselling and HR procedures
  • Ensure staff have up-to-date Risk Assessments and take timely action on near misses or accidents
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure safe and efficient site operation
  • Work with planning to generate a weekly plan
The ideal candidate will have:
  • Ideally 2 years' experience in a GMP or food processing environment, including at least 1 year in supervision
  • Determination and capability for high standards of supervision
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Goal-oriented, energetic and tenacious mindset
  • Proactive and innovative approach to continuous improvement
  • Strong commitment to GMP
  • Computer literacy and MS Office proficiency
  • Proven analytical and report writing skills
  • Experience in personnel training
  • Strong communication and motivational skills
  • Team player who demonstrates responsibility
  • Ability to effectively manage and develop staff performance
  • Influence across multiple departments
  • Positive, focused and organised approach
  • Effective delegation skills
  • Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives
